Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) announced the launch of its young scientist scheme (SSM) -the program of scholarships for education and training of young researchers.
Youth is designed to help achieve long-term career goals of young people in science, technology and related fields and provide them with research opportunities in the field of basic and applied research in established and recognized R & D center in Kerala.
The scheme is open to applicants under the age of 40 years; increased to 45 years for women candidates.
Selected young scientists will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 35,000 (for fresh PhDs), Rs 40,000 (for scholars from three years of research and industrial experience after PhD) and Rs 45,000 (for scholars from five years of research and industrial experience after PhD).
Laureate scientists are also eligible for R & D grants of up to Rs 30 lakh for three years to cover the labor force at a younger, travel, contingency, consumables and equipment. Sanctioned projects can be used in research institutes / colleges / industry departments or individual national research institutions within the state.
