Mahaveer Vardhman Open University (VMOU)
Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU or formerly known as Kota Open University, renamed by notification of the Rajasthan Government Gazette on September 21 2002) was founded in 1987 as a pioneering institution for open learning in Rajasthan. The idea of the establishment of an Open University in the State of Rajasthan has its origins in the observations of the Committee under the chairmanship of UGC late Prof. g. Rama Reddy, who observed that "the distance in Rajasthan is well established and has the potential of growing into a full fledged Open University."The establishment of VMOU (Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University) held with an amalgamation of two institute of correspondence courses, IE. Institute of Correspondence Education and Continuing education, Jaipur and (College of Correspondence Studies), Udaipur, in order to consolidate and achieve appropriate coordination between scattered vast resources of distance learning, and to serve the people of uniform high quality results State education.Mahaveer Vardhman Open University also are available on Indiaresults.com.
