Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) mains, 2014 will be held from December 14 to December 20 2014. The examination will be conducted on morning and afternoon sessions on all examination days. Furthermore, it is noted that there is no graduation day on 18 December, 16 December 2014. So they fixed the dates of the examination are: December 14, 15, 17, 19, 20.
Candidates should brace themselves with all the necessary preparations for the exam. Mains exam is a written test with a total of 1750 marks. Candidates remove mains exam will be called for personal interview, which is the ultimate choice for various posts in UPSC, according characters of the candidate. UPSC (mains) this year has a revised pattern and consists of the papers mentioned below:
Paper 1 - Essay
There are 250 marks, which can be written in the medium or language of the candidate coice.
Paper 2 - General Studies-I
The paper is 250 marks with Indian heritage and culture, history and geography of the world and society
Paper 3 - General Studies - II
The paper is 250 marks involving technology, economic development, biodiversity, environment, safety and disaster management
Paper 4 - General Studies - III
The paper is 250 marks involving technology, economic development, Bio? diversity, environment, safety and disaster management
Paper 5 - General studies -IV
The paper is 250 marks with ethics, integrity and security
Paper 6 - electives - Paper 1
Paper 7 - electives - Paper 2
