University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi has invited applications for Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral fellowship in the humanities and social sciences (including languages) for 2014-15 session.
The aim of this award is to provide an opportunity to conduct advanced studies and research in the humanities and social sciences including language in Indian universities and colleges recognized under section 2 (f) and fit to receive assistance under § 12 (B) of UGC Act 1956 institutes of national importance by the central / state government.
Financial assistance available under the scheme are as follows:
Community Rs 25000-27000 pm with increased Rs 1000 pa
Alternative Rs 50,000 pa for three years
Escort / reader using Rs 2000 / -PM (fixed) by physically handicapped candidates
Post-doctoral Fellowship includes providing accommodation in hostel recognized / maintained by the institutions get reimbursed like hostel fee, excluding mess, electricity, water charges, etc. A certificate to this effect is to be equipped with the Registrar / Director / Principal (Annexure-II) . If Post-Doctoral guy makes his own arrangements of accommodation, he may be entitled to draw HRA as categorization of cities by the Government of India. Post-Doctoral fellow sends a certificate for this purpose to the UGC for claiming HRA through the concerned university / institution / college.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in relevant subject.
General / open category candidates should have 55 per cent marks in UG and 60 per cent of the marks at PG level. Reserved Categories (SC / ST / OBC / PH) candidates, 50 percent of UG level and 55 percent at PG level.
Community is open to full-time research work of young researchers under 35 years (relaxation of five years for SC / ST / OBC / Women candidates).
How to apply: candidates need to supplement personal information including cast and physical disability certificate (if applicable). A candidate registration ID generated completed step 1 which can be used to generate a PDF file when the submission process is complete.
Candidates should supplement research information that includes academic education and other information containing papers published and grants / present employement etc..
