Sixty students have been awarded India's Australian Endeavour government grants and scholarships for 2015.Australian High Commissioner Patrick Suckling welcomed today the announcement, said it was a testament to the talent of indigenous students."I congratulate successful recipients - Endeavour Awards grants and scholarships are very competitive," he said."The fact that 60 Indians were selected for this award is a testament to the talent in this country. It is also nice to see that the Indians increased from 40 recipients in 2014."
Endeavour scholarships and fellowships provide significant support faculty and the best students in the world using world class research infrastructure in Australia, professional development and co • working with academic leaders in their field.
A total of 528 scholarships have been offered Endeavour international students this year, 154 Australians to undertake study and research abroad. This includes three Australians traveling to India in 2015."Endeavour scholarships and grants to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, strengthen mutual understanding between Indian and Australian researchers and build international networks, which continue long after the scholars have returned to India, says Mr.Suckling.
"This serves to reinforce our strong and enduring bilateral relationship with India."
The recipients will undertake studies or professional, graduate and postdoctoral research or professional development in some of the most prestigious universities in Australia over a number of academic.Applications for the 2016 Endeavour scholarship and fellowship opens around April 2015.
