The people of India finally feel the sense of democracy as the Supreme Court passes judgment subdivision 66A of information technology Act is vague and not included in the Constitution. First general litigation (PIL) was filed by a law student, Shreya Singhal after two girls were arrested for posting critical comments on Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray, after his death.
Here are seven best cases where section 66A was abused violates freedom of speech on social media:
Aseem Trivedi (The Cartoonist): In 2012, Aseem Trivedi was arrested on charges of sedition. He was arrested for putting up comic on his website and their Facebook page mocking the Indian Constitution.
