In order to create awareness about environmental contamination and the TILKIN Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) has decided environmental studies in undergraduate courses. Added the new issue of the current academic session at the University every constituent of the University.
Environmental Studies would be a binding document in the category of general studies of all degree courses at university level that works. The decision to introduce the subject in the curriculum was taken at the Council meeting held on Monday. The decision was taken at a subsequent fall of directives Apex Court and University Grant Commission. Recently, UGC directed universities across the country to submit environmental studies to raise awareness about the environment.
Early 1993, the Supreme Court had directed UGC formulate a required course in environmental studies for undergraduate students. However, most universities have a casual approach towards it. Later in 2011 the Central government issued directives followed UGC 2014. The course will cover concepts and issues related to the environment at various levels, sources confirmed.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, said that the ecosystem and pollution control is very important for human life. The topic will be added as a general studies degree courses.
TMBU aka Bhagalpur University is located in the state of Bihar. The University has 36 departments of education, 5 research centers and 30 schools constituents. It also has 24 schools and 15 B Ed affiliated schools.
