ABOUT Thakur PANCHANAN Barma
COOCH Behar Barma UNIVERSITY PANCHANAN was named after the great social reformer Thakur Panchanan Barma. Panchanan Barma, also known as the Thakur Saheb, Panchanan and Roy was a leader and reformer of the Rajbanshi Cooch Behar. He established Kshatriya Sabha, in order to inculcate values and Brahminical practices among people of the Rajbanshi in this region, in particular, and in Bengal, in general. Thakur Panchanan Barma (1866 â € "1935) was born in Khalisamari village in Cooch Behar state once. He graduated from Victoria College, Cooch Behar-which was then affiliated with the University of Calcutta-a honors in Sanskrit in 1893. laterA I passed and LLB in 1897 and 1898, respectively, from the same University. In the early years of his career, he began to practice law at Court Rangpur. In 1921, Thakur Panchanan Barma was elected to the Bengal Legislative Assembly after winning the general election.
