St John's college is one of the higher educational institutions of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. The college is situated in Anchal, Kerala, India. This is one of the Malankara Syrian Catholic colleges established and administered by Major Trivandrum archdiocese in accordance with minority rights guaranteed in the Constitution of India. It is estimated training center is the result of the vision and far-end of the short-sightedness of Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios and currently thriving under the patronage of Moran Mor Tottunkal Cleemis.Ever since its inception in the college serves the cause of education and overall development of the region. The college has been accredited by B + class, NAAC in 2005.
He is affiliated with the University of Kerala was started in 1964 with the pre-university course and consistently upgraded with BA, B.Sc and B.Com degree courses in 1967 Master Mathematatics in 1995, BACommunicative English (semester) in 1998, MA Public Administration (Semester) in 1999 and a Master of Environment (semester) in 2001.
Being conscious of their special responsibilities for providing educational opportunities for the Syrian Malankara Catholic community, management also extends its services to the members of other communities, and to the maximum extent possible. College made its presence in social media via Facebook and Twitter at the end of 2011. Since then, he provides updates through the website and social media. On 13 September 2014 the college celebrated its golden jubilee mega hosting Reunion Day on campus. The event attracted many of his former students and staff to take a stroll down memory lane. Culture and arts programs were organized and held in the auditorium of the graduates of the college. Vijayan puja with her semi classical dance, was one of the many graduates who were held on the occasion.
