Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (KCAET), the only college of agricultural engineering in the state of Kerala, located in Tavanur in Malappuram. It is named after a freedom fighter and social reformer Sri K. Kelappan. 
The college is affiliated with the Faculty of Agriculture Faculty of Engineering, Kerala Agricultural University.
B. technology. and clothing. Agricultural Engineering courses were started on 99 acres (400,000 m2) in 1985. [2 b. technology in food engineering was added in 2011. Main courses, KCAET are b. technology. in agricultural engineering and food engineering, with intake capacity of 40 per course and clothing for Agricultural Engineering. [1 sewing Agricultural Engineering offered in the disciplines of soil and water conservation engineering, agricultural machinery power and energy and food processing engineering, each of which has an intake capacity of 5.
In 1963, the Government of India began in Rural Institute Tavanur (Malappuram) in Kerala. 99 hectares of land for the institute were purchased from Sri Vasudevan Nambudiri Mana Tavanur and several others.  in 1975, the Institute was captured by Kerala Agricultural University and was renamed the Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT). IAT offered diplomas in subjects, including agricultural science and agriculture and rural technology.
from 1985 to the present 
In 1985, the Institute was renamed again as Kelappaji college of agricultural machinery and technology. Prior to this, agricultural engineering course was a college of agriculture in Vellayani. It was then bought in Tavanur and was renamed b. technology and textile Agricultural Engineering at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering KAU.  in 2011, was added to b. technology in food engineering.
