SLIET Academic Section
Sant Longowal Institute of engineering and technology (SLIET) Longowal was deemed University, in 2007, to run various UG and PG courses in its academic models own. The courses of study are organized on semester system (for example, two semesters in an academic year). Each semester is 18 weeks (i.e. 90 days), with the exception of final semester exams. Academic study schemes at each level are balanced with a range of co-curricular activities. Special lectures/discussions with personalities invited for the varied academic relevance topic are organized at the departmental level. To motivate and encourage students, an advisory system is also in place, involving various members of the faculty as head counselor and classroom aides. Students are evaluated on a continuous basis throughout the semester masters course. The teaching environment is English for all courses run by the Institute.
The Academic Department of the Institute is managed by Dean (academics) coordinating Associate Dean (academics), Deputy Registrar (academics), Assistant Registrar (academics) and dedicated staff members.
Academic section has two distinct cells to deal with academic issues relating to different degrees and diplomas/certificates separately. Issues related to various graduate degree under (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses are treated under the UG and PG Cell whereas issues related to various diploma and certificate courses are treated in accordance with the certificate and diploma Cell. So the cells undertake the following activities related to students
Maintenance of academic records;
The issue of identity cards;
Duplicate ID cards issuance (upon request);
Release forms for examination;
The release Recognizes cards (to appear in tests);
Conduct of examinations;
Declaration of results;
Release of detailed book marks (DMC);
Issue of Duplicate DMCs (upon request);
Bonafide certificate issuance (upon request);
Issue of provisional certificate (upon request);
Issue of a certificate of equivalence (upon request);
Issue of Transcripts (on demand);
Checking the various academic certificates issued by the Institute (upon request);
Processing of cases of students, such as late registration, lack of participation, of course, fall, etc.
Any other query relating to academia.
Apart from these cells, there is a scholarship to handle all kinds of scholarships to students from the Institute for example posting matrix for students scholarships, merit cum means SC scholarship, scholarship, scholarship, CBO GATE and many other scholarships offered by governmental bodies and other agencies or various.
All academic rules and regulations, schedule of study and courses of study for different streams/courses offered by the Institute are approved by the Senate and published in book form and put on the website for service and information more broadly.
Students are advised to follow strict academic calendar and check bulletin boards Section/Hostels/academic departments, regularly to know about various events and academic deadlines. They are responsible for meeting deadlines for:
Registration at various courses offered each semester;
Adding/dropping courses each semester;
Presentation of examination forms (if applicable);
Pre-registration for next semester;
Verification of results of various examinations/worksheets answer;
Collection Of DMCs;
Any other activity related to the Students notified from time to time.
