NLSIU Nalsar lawyers raise & Rhodes Scholarships this EAP
NLSIU Bangalore and Nalsar Hyderabad last year LLB students Mansi Sood and Sanya Samtani, respectively, are among nearly 85 selected trusted Rhodes scholars, for its class at the University of Oxford in 2015.
A student of sociology at the University of Delhi and an economics student and a student at Bangalore are other Indians selected for class. Those five years the Indians who made this year's class of Rhodes include four women.
Samtani's profile on the website provides Oxford:
"Her primary Area of interest is the intersection of public international law, constitutional law, and critical theory. After being an Assistant teaching public international law and constitutional law, she is considering a career in academia. While NALSAR, she served as senior editor of the NALSAR University Student Law Review; the editor of indian Journal of intellectual property Law, he edited a special issue on the Global South, as well as student editor of international law and Comparing quarterly ILSA's. Moreover, she was on the committees to organize NALSAR Film Festival and Championship Varsity debate NALSAR Inter. "
Sood's profile on the website States:
"His interest is in commercial law, with a focus on arbitration and intellectual property law. Currently serving as Chief editor of the Law School of India review, National Mansi has helped organize annual symposium in the past three years. She has participated in several competitions of national and international judgment into question and, recently, he won the 5th International Mooting Competition at RDA Hong Kong. In addition, Mansi is mooting as well, parliamentary debate and writing. A Kathak dancer trained, likes to play sports, especially badminton. "
