KM Mani Finance Minister said that the government has frozen, the recruitment of new employees for the current fiscal year. This recommendation was approved by the Cabinet, he said.
Delivering his speech at the Conference of State Assistant Vehicle Inspectors Association here on Saturday, Mr. Mani said that the cabinet had already decided not to create new jobs during the current financial year. Department of Finance decided not to punish any new jobs this year.
He made it clear that the creation of new jobs was discussed at the cabinet level, as the cost of salaries and related matters will register a corresponding increase.
Finance Minister dropped a hint that the future of the nine regional offices of transport and the creation of jobs out there hanging on fire. '' If we can increase the additional Rs.100 crore from the transport sector, we can think about the question of the nine departments and the creation of new jobs, '' said Mr. Mani.
