Nagpur University

Nagpur University was established August 4, 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. In 1947, the number of students increased to about 9000 accompanied by the improvement and diversification of curricula and expansion of the range of topics. During these years for the intellectual and physical well-being of students has increased as libraries and sports facilities. It was in 1958 that some new departments in the humanities and social sciences faculties were opened; significant expansion, however, came in 1963 when several science and other teaching Departments were started. Departments were moved to spacious buildings in the main campus in 1972-73. In later years, several career oriented courses have been started viz., Business management, fine arts, mass communication, library science, physical education, etc.
Over ninety years of its existence the University has gone well and doing well in the midst of constraints of different sorts. This has been possible thanks to the futuristic vision of higher education of the person who adore Chair Vice-Rector of the University. Their commitment and dedication have helped enormously in the course of this university.

The University is a member of the Thirty - nine postgraduate training departments (PGTD), the three components of the college / institution (College of Law, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology and the College of Education). Eight hundred forty two school related Department and conducted / Institution college buildings are scattered in 11 campuses with a total area of 318 hectares. The following programs under various faculties are run with the help of the above PGTD, led college and associated colleges.

Besides research programs in almost all of the Thirty - nine departments and three colleges are conducted through self Master of Philosophy, PhD and post-doc. University Hobby Workshop conducts regular training programs in the field of photography, painting, sculpture, carpentry, electronics, etc.

The above formal programs are supplemented by the following mode of non-formal education to meet local needs through education.
i curricula maintenance and insulation biopesticidal / micropropagation culture, effective use of technology in micro-bial aqua culture farming, through the Centre for Biotechnology Rajiv Gandhi Vikas, Nagpur University, Nagpur.
(ii) expansion of activities across the adult and continuing education programs.

In the context of globalization meager quantitative expansion of opportunities of higher education will not be sufficient to meet the legitimate expectations of the population in the case. This qualitative growth along with the built-in quality control mechanism, which is taken into account in the preparation of this proposal. (i) the concept of e-learning and the relationship is initialized to keep pace with the rapid development. (ii) interdisciplinary courses, programs of rural development and backward (iii) (at Gadchiroli sub-center) (iv) strengthening of the library (v) -prepodavanie curriculum (vi) strengthening of all departmental laboratories and infrastructure to improve teaching and research.
