Our integrated service combines information provision skills library staff with the technical expertise of IT staff. The result is that MITSOT is one of the leading institutions in the use of communication and information technology (C & IT) in support of teaching and learning, with access to electronic and other information resources that are key for each course in an institution
Information resources - library
Our library offers a blend of learning environments to meet different students' needs, whether it is quiet, personal study space or a group study room equipped with a plasma team work, discussion or practicing a presentation. The study areas have network PCs to provide flexibility to work connected along traditional print resources and our wireless network gives students use their own laptop.
The library is well stocked with over 2597 books, 3810 volumes, 48 national and international journals, but the extensive range of resources extends library off campus. Electronic access to a variety of information, including more than 3,000 electronic journals, more than 1,000 e-books, about 700 CD Rom - is available to all our students whether they are on or off campus.
We realize the importance of giving our students the type of network computing environment they can expect to incorporate by Post exam. An ongoing program of continuous improvement ensures that both hardware and software are industry standards, providing our students with one of the best common IT platforms. Although we have a well-lab with 70 workstations, we have 30 workstations in the library and read only for students. We also appreciate that students increasingly need access to network information resources anytime and anywhere. MITSOTS knowledge Portal - Vishwabrihaspati (virtual classroom) - provides students integrated access, both on and offcampus, courses, online teaching and learning materials namely Video lecture audio streams, maps, Exam Results, timetables and an abundance of other information, systems and services, including much is custom made.
