Campus at Mangalore Mangalagangothri, located about 20 km south-east of the historic coastal town of Mangalore city, sets the tone for the educational efforts of the three districts under the jurisdiction of the University. It focuses more picturesque campus 333 acres overlooking the river where Nethravathi the Gulf of Oman on the one hand, and the cloud-capped Western Ghats on the other. Arose from a modest center graduate of the University of Mysore to be the focal point of an independent University in 1980, Campus, which once hosted email only three graduate departments, post graduate departments now twenty-five, supported by infrastructure modern and experienced teachers.
The campus is an autonomous system that provides all the basic services and infrastructure to achieve excellence in higher education. Among several key facilities Mangalagangothri, will mention center Library spacious and modern instruments, Micro Throne center, Humanities Block, MBA new blog and cyber cafe. It is an imposing administrative building, two guesthouses for visiting dignitaries and faculty, a fully equipped wellness center, a shopping complex useful nationalized two banks and ATM center. There is a post office and a telephone exchange on the campus. The University has provided residential quarters of employees in the campus itself.
On campus there are two hostels for men and women and a hostel for working women. Solar water heaters installed in all hostels. There are playgrounds and tennis courts, a modern fitness facility. Indoor sports facilities. The staff of the University, being in the education community Vishwamangala, ran a primary school, secondary school and University College, a pre campus. We also get a portion of company personnel attending to the needs of staff and students.
Mangalore University has grown impressively since the beginning with 190 affiliated schools, including two constituent schools, one in Mangalore and one in Madikeri, taken from the University of the Government of Karnataka in 1992, the University has established the Center PG Madikeri Cauvery campus offering graduate courses in biochemistry and microbiology.
