Kerala Agricultural University was founded February 24, 1971 Law number 33 of 1971 of Kerala State Legislature, entitled "Law on Agricultural University, 1971 ', the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) became operational on February 1, 1972. After the formation of the University, College of Agriculture and Research Institute, which was previously linked to the University of Kerala and the Veterinary College and Research Institute, a branch of the University of Calicut were transferred to the CAU. In addition, twenty-one of agriculture and livestock research stations in the state government were also transferred to the Kerala Agricultural University University.The instructed to provide the technology and human resources for the scientific improvement of agriculture in the state.
