IIT Kanpur has come up with an elegant single hospital bed hospital stay that promises much more convenient. It also makes more efficient monitoring of patients for hospital staff.
The design team consists of Dr. J Ramkumar and his students and Nikhil Jamdade Bagde Toshiba has won praise for Gandhian prototype technological innovation award at Rashtrapati Bhawan young.
The bed low cost option provides privacy for individual patients in general room through sliding curtains. Smart Sensors bed eliminate the need for critical patients fists. Controls sleep patterns and problems like seizures and cough. Patients live data and alerts can be observed nurse station, as well as elsewhere in the hospital.
Blood pressure and arrhythmic disturbing vibrations are automatically monitored by sensors and triggers an alarm in case of emergency. It also automatically records the weight pressure, bed-and exits the body. The LCD panel continuously provides the necessary information away. A sliding seat provides added space for doctors and caregivers.
"We wanted to make hospital stay easier common man. We are also working on an intelligent wheelchair for disabled patients," said Dr. J Rajkumar working for innovation at the base and has several patents to his credit.
