Graduate aptitude test in engineering (GATE) scheduled for testing complete understanding of various undergraduate courses in Engineering and Science will be held in the months of January and February next year. The last date for registration for 2015 has been extended to 14 October, considering the devastating flood situation in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Basic features of the examination are mentioned here:
Exams for all 22 papers will be held for online computer based test (CBT). The sheet will have some online exam questions, the same numerical answers must be typed by the candidate using the virtual keyboard. All remaining questions would be in the form of multiple choice questions;
Biometric information (fingerprints and photograph) to randomly selected applicants may be taken before the start of the exam;
Gate 2015 exams will be held during evening sessions on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and forenoon, January 31, 2015 and February 14, 2015 An examination of some of the work takes multiple sessions to be held in 2015;
For 2015 takes the whole process of filling of application • single, loading certificates / documents, etc. are online and candidates should not send any hard copy of the application form / documents, etc., none of Secretariat door zonal IIT / IISc;
The fee payment can be made online through various modes like Net Banking, Debit application / credit card, e-Challa, etc. .;
Admit cards for 2015 port is available through the online process only. Admit cards will be available on the official website. No Admit cards will be dispatched separately;
Gate 2015 score is valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of the results.
The examination is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Figueres, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee to) on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of higher Education, Ministry of human resource development (MHRD), government of India.
