Now students of all streams may follow an MBA from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi under its new program, a statement said Friday.
"The IIT, Delhi, has opened its doors to all current MBA aspirants while announcing its new MBA program. So far, only students of engineering and technology background or those with master's degree in science and economics / commerce were be considered eligible for admission to the research courses offered by its Department of management studies (DMS), "he said.
T. Kanika Bhal, head, DMS, said that 2015 students from all streams would be able to apply for the MBA program.
"The IIT-Delhi expects students from diverse backgrounds. We believe that knowledge should not be restricted to specific disciplines and students from all fields make a good mix in any institution, especially in terms of cross-disciplinary learning," he Bhal said.
For the year 2015-16, the Department will assess the eligibility of an applicant on the basis of their educational background including all performance classes X and XII, graduation more your score Common Admissions Test and interview performance group discussion and personal.
Extracurricular activities and experience of the candidate also want to consider before deciding on the application for admission.
The new program was designed based on input from industry experts, students and alumni after the DMS recently revised curriculum structure and previous program.
