Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar has invited applications for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered by the School of Basic Sciences, School of Earth, ocean and climate science, school of electrical sciences, humanities, social sciences and management and school of mechanical engineering for 2014 Interested and qualified candidates can apply online by October 15.
For Ph.D in Basic Sciences Programme: this program seeks candidates should have scored at least 60 per cent marks in the Masters program. Or candidates should have a valid GATE score or UGC-CSIR-NET (with JRF) / inspire fellowship in the relevant field.
For Ph.D in Earth, Ocean & Climate Science program: this program seeks candidates should have scored at least 60 per cent marks ii MSc / M.Tech in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Marine Science / Earth Sciences / mechanical / civil / Geoinformatik / Remote Sensing / computer Science. Or candidates should have a valid GATE score or UGC-CSIR-NET (with JRF) / inspire fellowship in the relevant field. Mathematics at UG level is mandatory for climate research.

The registration fee:
Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 500 in the form of demand draft should be drawn for "IIT Bhubaneswar" on any nationalized bank payable at Bhubaneswar. Candidates belonging to reserved category have to pay Rs 250 only.
