Realizing long cherished dream of "Women Empowerment" stands on two important pillars - education and health, as said by said Krishna district collector Babu. Addressing a meeting organized in collaboration with the International Women's Day in Tummalapalli Kalakshetram of women and children welfare department, he mentioned that to ensure equal status for women in community education was as important as health and vice versa.
Saying that it is the responsibility of the authorities concerned in the district to take adequate measures to prevent child mortality and stillborn deaths, he said it was an extreme need to promote Health Education among lower income women groups especially. He also believed that encouraging women to education and reviving confidence in the primary health centers would go a long way in improving scenario in India. Sub collector S. Nagalakshmi, who held the meeting, said that new programs would be designed and implemented through women and child welfare department to raise awareness about the need to improve over all conditions of women in society, in addition to start effective measures to provide benefits to women employees in different departments.
Radhika, a lawyer, targeting the Krishna district was in the front entry of large number of cases the law violence in Andhra Pradesh. She said: "Ironically many of these cases were filed by women against other women." Radhika stated that this type of situation could have been avoided if women tried to solve domestic problems cordial.
