Kochi: G.P.C. Nayar, Chairman of the SCMS Group, was elected National President of the Federation of associations of private unaided professional colleges.
Release group on Monday said CI Abdul Rahiman and K.m. Navas was elected General Secretary and Treasurer of the Federation accordingly. Dr. Nayar is also President of the Kerala self-financing engineering school, and the Board of the Association.
Noting that the All India Council for technical education (AICTE), seem to have forgotten that 97 per cent of the professional colleges in the country were in the private sector, unaided, said Dr. Nayar any action on the part of the Council of Europe to implement the requirement of the new pay scale will lead to total chaos in vocational education.
He appealed to postpone the implementation of new rules of AICTE faculty for at least five years or until adequate m. Tech graduates have been available in the country. Dr. Nayar has also proposed a single structure of payment across the country to implement the new salary package heavy proposed programme.
He said the delegation will meet with the Prime Minister, the Minister of HRD and the Acting Chairman AICTE raised concerns with the unaided professional colleges.
