In a move toward reconstituting the country's highest decision making body in education, central Advisory Board of Education (CABE), the government has made numerous some 20 new members of the total nominated 43 members.
In addition nominated members consist CABE education ministers of the states in India, six members of parliament, leaders of various prizes educational bodies as CBSE, UGC, the National Institute for educational planning and administration and heads of several other prizes education bodies.
According to the report PTI among the 20 members who are elected by the leader of IIT - Delhi Vijay Bhatkar, Rohan Narayan Murty and Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Central University, SA Bari. Former head of Editors' Guild of India, DN Bezboruah, VC of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University, Jawaharlal Kaul and teaching Indumati Rao. The selection is done by HRD Minister Smriti Irani, PTI report.
There are reports that the design of the new national education policy is on the cards and considerations in this regard is expected soon. Consultation Process to formulate policy was already launched on 26 January.
Rohan Murty, son of Narayan Murthy capita dialogue, which is among the elected members are believed to be of importance as he was the man behind the idea of publishing classical texts of India.
