Government College of Engineering, Kannur (GCEK) is a state in the College of Engineering of the University of Kannur, Kerala, India. The college was launched in October 1986 as a center for imparting engineering education in northern Kerala. He started high school in Kannur campus. In 2012, Careers360, magazine, an advance team of Outlook, ranked among the top engineering colleges in Kerala with a rating of AA +. 
GCEK turned into a sprawling campus (300 000 m2) 75 acres in Mangattuparamba, just on the national highway NH-17, 15 miles north of the district headquarters, Kannur.
The College has a yearly intake of 300 students (five 4 year graduate courses), on the basis of merit of Kerala common entrance exam.
Sewing courses electrical engineering and electronics (power electronics and drives) and engineering (advanced manufacturing and mechanical systems) were started with the 2011-2012 school year, and electronics and communications engineering (signal processing and embedded systems) and civil engineering (Computer aided structural engineering) with an annual consumption of 72 students.
