Combined defence Services
United Defense Services (CDS) provides excellent career opportunities for young and brave people, who are fed by a strong sense of patriotism. UPSC examines CDs, twice each year for selection in the Indian armed forces, army, Navy and air force.
The selection process consists of a written test and personal exam by the Service Selection. After the final selection, candidates are sent, depending on their choice, specified in the application form and a list of credit rating, one of the following Orientation training institutes:
Indian military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
Naval Academy, Goa
Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad
Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai
Those who joined the first three institutions get a permanent Commission, but students going from OTA to get a short Service Commission.
Only unmarried men and women can apply for combined defence services.
