Host CSIR UGC-CSIR test to determine eligibility joint candidates for the Indian National Award for Junior Research Grants (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of teachers (NET) in certain matters that fall under the Faculty of Science. The award of Junior Research fellowship (NET) to eligible candidates success depends on their finding admission / placement in a National University / laboratory / institution for more learning and research applicable.
A candidate can apply for 'JRF + readership "or" readership (LS) only "you may indicate a preference in the OMR application form / Online application, as appropriate. CSIR may consider nominations for 'JRF + LS "or" only readership "depending on the number of available scholarships & performance testing according to the condition that meet the established criteria for eligibility. If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) that he / she will automatically be considered by readership (NET) only.
Two separate merit lists, comprising candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF - NET) and the second of those candidates who qualify the test of eligibility for readership (NET) will be on basis of their performance in the previous test candidates qualifying for JRF (NET) will also be eligible for readership (NET) subject to fulfilling the criteria for eligible UGC. Candidates qualifying readership will be eligible for employment as a teacher, as well as JRF-ship scheme / project, if otherwise appropriate. However, not eligible for Regular JRFNET communion. Eligible to continue the doctoral program with or without a scholarship other than JRF-NET. Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) receive communion from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the schemes with which you can find Association. The candidates declared eligible for Junior Research Fellowship scheme is governed by UGC UGC norms / regulations in the matter.
The end result of this unique MCQ test may be declared sometime in September / October 2015 and admitted to communion be effective from 1 January 2016 with a validity period of 2 years.
The test will be held on the matters listed below:

2. Earth Atmospheric Ocean and Planetary Sciences
3. Life Sciences
5. Physical Sciences
6. Engineering Sciences
4-year BS program / BE / BTech / BPharma / MBBS / integrated BS-MS / MSc or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks overall and OBC (50% candidates for SC / ST, physically and visually handicapped candidates) .
Candidates registered for m.SC or have completed 10 + 2 + 3 years of previous qualification examination are also eligible to apply in the previous topic under the category of expected result (RA) with the condition to complete the degree qualification with the required percentage of marks in the validity period of two years to take communion from the effective date of the award. Candidates must submit the attestation format (given on the back of the application form) duly certified by the head of department / institute where the candidate is appearing or has appeared.
BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree or students enrolled in the MS-PhD program integrated with at least 55% marks for General and OBC candidates; 50% mark SC / ST candidates, physically and visually handicapped candidates are also eligible to apply. Degree candidates, whether science, engineering or any other discipline will be eligible for scholarships only after getting registered / enrolled in doctoral PhD / integrated within the validity period of two years.
Eligibility for readership NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria established by the UGC. PhD graduates who have passed the Master before 19 September 1991, at least 50% marks are eligible only apply readership.
Age limit: from JRF (NET): minimum 19 years and maximum 28 years as on 01-01-2015 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to applicants SC / ST / OBC (Non Creamy Layer), physically disabled / visually handicapped and female).
For LS (NET): upper age limit.
