Taking up the position of the government to promote traditional forms of treatment and make them an integral part of our health care system in general, the center has given nod to 18 new schools would soon Ayurveda in different cities of India. Seven of the new schools would in Uttar Pradesh; three flights was built in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and two other six in six different states. The government spent the last three years has only agreed to such an institution in the country.
The government proposal was the creation of 39 new institutions Ayurveda, of which the center has established nodded 18. Last year only one such school was granted permission while 30 proposals for the same. In 2012 and 2011 there was no permission given to these schools in the middle.
Currently there are 281 Ayurveda colleges in our country that offers 15.057 places and 3,081 postgraduate degree. The Janata government has created a committee to promote the concept of "holistic health" and recommended reforms in medical education, research and legal framework.
