Implementation of effective measures to curb examination malpractices and fraud prevention examination as spoofing is coming under the main objectives of the University of Calicut now. For example, to prevent imposters from entering the exam rooms, the University asked students to bring a photo ID as its additional Aadhaar card, passport or voter ID in its halls examination along with the entries of the room.
"Students must produce both inputs room and ID whenever requested an additional attend. The additional safeguards have been launched after a young man was arrested for identity theft and writing exam name of another student in an exam center in Tenhipalam recently, "said the rector M.Abdul Salam. Affiliated colleges have also asked to install a CCTV camera in the control room of examination with ease of recording of all time. This CCTV promises to keep an eye on how the question papers are manipulated and kept safe before they are sent to schools. The University had until 2012, providing cancel all written examinations and student guilty debarring the student to appear in the next two exams. But that was reduced to cancel the examination which was captured student and the student load a fine of up to Rs 2,500.
"If you find that colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut involved in examination malpractices have lapses or stop them, you can cancel. Ical examination centers there," VV Georgekutty, director of examinations at the University of Calicut said.
