who we are
Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani bit - All India Institute for higher education. The main motive of bits is "to train young men and women able and willing to create and implement such ideas, methods, techniques and information." The Institute is a dream come true of its founder, the late Mr. GDBirla - eminent industrialist, a participant in the struggle for India's freedom, and a close associate of the father of the Indian nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi). What began in the early XX century as a small school, blossomed into a set of colleges of higher education, ranging from the humanities engineering until 1964 when all these colleges combined finish in a unique Indian University with an international reputation. This university was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known to many as bits, Pilani.

Over the years, bits provides high quality technical education students from all over India admitted on the basis of merit. Its graduates can be found all over the world in all fields of technology, science and trade. BITS symbolizes the Indian technical ability and "energetic" entrepreneurial spirit, especially as derived from the private sector. BITS is located in the Vidya Vihar campus, near the town of Pilani in Rajasthan.

Our policy
Striving for perfection need for a transparent and honest approach. In Pilani bit we always thought it was true and they are one of the few top institutes in India in favor of "merit only" on the basis of the rules of admission.

To ensure complete transparency in the admission of students to undergraduate courses we introduced BITSAT, completely online exam. BITSAT tests students on their suitability for mathematics, physics and chemistry. BITSAT also has a section in English and logical reasoning, thus becoming a full analysis of intelligence and ability of the candidate.
