In an effort to develop higher education in Assam, the state government has joined hands with Australia-based Curtin University.
As one official said, the Government of Assam has signed a cooperation agreement. co-operation. partnership with Curtin University to improve higher education, mainly in the field of technology and research.
The Association will facilitate collaborative working between Curtin University, Department of Education and Science and Technology University of Assam. Focus will be on the development and implementation of world class Washington Accord accredited program to encourage up technological research and education status.
At a meeting in this regard, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gago assured cooperation and support of the government to Curtin University to pursue this collaboration to strengthen the comprehensive studies in the state.
The Minister also advised the Department of Education to leave no stone unturned to extend the parameters of the agreement in the areas gap analysis, curriculum and other services to facilitate the paradigm shift in the field of higher education . He also wanted to incorporate agriculture and other natural resources within the scope of the study to ensure the state's efforts for sustainable development.
The meeting was chiared by Tarun Gago while state education minister, charged Barkotoky, additional chief secretary, information technology and education department, Rajiv Kumar Bora, Assam Vice President of Science and Technology University, Prady Kumar Goswami, etc. were present.
According to information, a team of 12 members Curtin University is in town to visit School of Engineering and School of Engineering Jorhat Assam soon. The team then recommend measures to improve engineering schools in the state.
