Hospital and medical college in Calcutta likely constituted by the Apollo group.
Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Trust will invest about Rs 400 crores for setting up medical college and hospital on the outskirts of the southern city of Calcutta. After Hyderabad, this will be the second such institute in the country with a capacity to admit 100 students per session and have more than 550 operational beds in the hospital.
As per official sources, Apollo Hospital and Medical College of Calcutta admit 150 students initially, which can be reduced to 200 in the later stages.
Expected to be completed in three phases, Apollo Hospital Medical College Kolkata Admission is likely to begin in June 2017 and 2018 and will have a total of 21 courses. Also, 1000 will be adjacent hospital beds, of which 300 to 500 beds will be operational in the initial phase of the project. For the fifth year, all beds will be operational in 1000 the hospital grounds.
However, the cornerstone of the project has been established.
Apollo Group will invest around Rs 750 crores to establish five new hospitals in the next six months, in Vizag, Nellore and Guwahati; and two in Mumbai.
According to reports, Apollo has spent about Rs 1000 crores stage up new businesses in cities like Indore, Nasik, Guwahati and Tiruchi during the last one year.
